I have been a dealer representative for the Southland Log homes for the past four years. My wife, Barbara, and I own a 171 acre farm that is adjacent to the Deer Haven State Park. We put aside thirty acres for a log home development known as Deer Haven Estates. Nine of those acres were laid aside for our personal log home and garage which are shown on our website. We are selling eight other two to four acres sites for log homes or home of brick and/or stone.

The home has a total of 7,500 square feet excluding the covered porch which is over 3,000 square feet. The garage has a total of 3,200 square feet with a completed apartment on the second floor. You will enjoy touring our home to get many ideas of what you may want in your own log home. Some of the features of our home are: Vaulted ceilings, loft , walk-in closets, decks, large country kitchen, stone fire place, hot tub room, recreation room, theater, and much more. The house took five months to get closed in and another ten months to complete the interior. The garage took a total of nine months to complete. Although log home building takes time, it is worth the experience and lifetime of living in your own log home refuge.

I have been in development adventures for the past forty years. I have served as a minister in the Christian Church for fifty years, and I have overseen the building of three churches in the Columbus area. Barbara and I have built, owned and operated four private schools in the Central Ohio area over the past thirty-seven years. We still operate one school in Columbus.

We decided in 2002 to purchase our log home from the Southland Log home Company. We visited and examined log homes companies for five years before we made our decision on Southland. The quality of the product, the guidance of Southland’s staff and leads to find a good builder played into our decision to go with this amazing company.
